The orography of the basin of Sóller makes that the town has a microclimate own and different to the rest of the island nourished by the mountains that rise on the valley. Sóller is orientated towards the northwest openned to the sea and therefore with a climatology similar to that of the rest of the Mediterranean arch. The valley is characterized by having a climate with soft winters and soft summers. The cycle of regular rains is
concentrated
in the months of spring and autumn with a half annual registry of some 750 liters for square meter. The fact that the valley is in the feet of the Puig Major,with their 1.445 meters of altitude (the highest of the Balears), it makes possible enjoy from sometimes the show of the snow in the months of winter.
The temperatures that are registered along the year are soft with genial summers and moderate winters. The annual average is from 17 degrees, which become some maxims of 35º C in the summer and 7º C in the winter.
Sóller is considered like the orchad of Mallorca for their torrents that cross the valley and their numerous fountains that burst forth in the feet of the mountains.
